Bat Benefits

The CAT9 Connect takes things up a notch when compared to the standard CAT9. These Connect models take the awesome technology from the regular CAT9 and add it to a two-piece, hybrid frame.

The barrel will be composed of the AZR alloy material that undergoes a 3-part heat treatment to yield a material that delivers top results. However, the connection point is where the craziness begins with the CAT9 Connect. The AZR alloy barrel and the composite handle of this bat will be conjoined by the Outer Locking System (OLS). The OLS technology internally fuses the barrel and handle through a threading system. And then for extra security, the OLS external piece locks the two components from the outside. This creates one of the absolute stiffest connection points on the baseball bat market. If you want a two-piece bat that reduces vibration but feels like a stiff one-piece bat (when you connect with a baseball) grab a CAT9 Connect.

Marucci has built this drop 5 to be a very heavy bat as it will have quite an end loaded feel. Due to that, we would really only recommend it for power hitters right at the end of their USSSA baseball career (Be sure to note that at least a drop 5 bat [or BBCOR rated bat] will be required for use within 14U USSSA Baseball events).
